Summary

The Executive Director, Academic Services is responsible for the operational oversight and leadership of student and trainee services, including integrated enrollment, career services, administrative operations, and academic guidance, assessment and compliance programs. This position reports to the Vice President, Student & Trainee Services and ensures collaboration, consistency and efficiency across multiple academic services functions. This position is eligible for an annual performance based bonus.

This position may be eligible to work a hybrid work arrangement after an onboarding and training period.

Job Duties
  • Directs the academic and administrative operations of the Office of Student & Trainee Services (OSTS). This includes overall OSTS management, programming, assessment, reporting, accreditation and compliance management.
  • Evaluates current practices and develops plans to improve operational effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Works with Vice President, Student & Trainee Services for strategic planning, annual goal setting for OSTS and works with individual subunits and tracking progress towards goal achievement.
  • Manages multiple teams and provides operation oversight to include, developing staffing plans, defining work responsibilities and prioritization, setting performance expectations and goals and conducting annual performance evaluations.
  • Oversees human resource activities, including hiring, terminations, salary recommendations, and disciplinary actions.
  • Directs new OSTS initiatives such as program expansion to regional campus and development of new space, ensuring OSTS service delivery and requirements are appropriately addressed.
  • Provides oversight in Integrity Hotline reports triaged to OSTS, and ensures school/program compliance with investigation and reporting. Prepares annual Integrity Hotline report, including trend analyses and action plans. Works with Office of General Counsel to support the Student Appeals and Grievance Committee.
  • Oversees of Student Services Committee and College-wide student organizations.
  • Ensures OSTS meets objectives of addressing the 7 elements of wellness through direct OSTS efforts or in partnership with BCM’s BeWell program. Ensures OSTS partners effectively with BeWell. Ensures robust engagement of various OSTS units with Schools and stakeholders.
  • Oversees needs assessments for OSTS units, and holds each accountable for service delivery and quality. Supports unit level needs assessments, new initiative proposals, and ensures accountability of individuals units.
  • Develops and implements annual review of OSTS & Education Core Services for the College. Uses review to guide strategic planning, continuous quality improvement and recommendations for new initiatives.
  • Oversees OSTS communication including annual report, and internal marketing of services to school/program, faculty and student stakeholders.
  • Serves as OSTS liaison for accreditation efforts across the College, including all school/program-specific and regional accreditors. Responsible for coordinating internal assessments and reporting of OSTS in support of SACSCOC accreditation, including OSTS-wide data collection/surveys and reporting.
  • Manages information warehouse of orphan educational programs not associated with a school or program (i.e. non-GME fellowships), and connects these programs with available resources and accreditation resources, as appropriate.
  • Develops, implements, monitors, and revises OSTS policies and procedures. Ensures policies, procedures, and regulations are followed and communicates concerns to the appropriate College leaders.
  • Supervises and mentors staff. Leads ongoing staff professional development and ensures effective communication throughout OSTS.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Fifteen years of directly related experience with five years of supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree and eleven years of directly related experience with five years of supervisory experience will also be considered.
