Job Summary

Education Support Services (ESS) provides technical operations for multimedia services for the Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS) in administrative, classroom and event spaces. ESS is comprised of three unique groups; Teaching & Learning, Events & Media Production, and Design and Engineering.

The Audiovisual Systems Support Specialist reports to the Audiovisual Systems Support Supervisor and is responsible for day-to-day troubleshooting, support, maintenance, implementation and research and development of audiovisual systems. As the role is critical for day-to-day operations during academic periods, it requires presence on campus. Flexible work arrangements may be acceptable during periods of limited campus activity but this is at the discretion of the Director of Design and Engineering.

Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum of two years’ post-secondary education or a minimum of three years relevant work experience.
  • Fundamental knowledge of analog, digital and converged AV and IT audiovisual systems.

Certifications and/or experience below are desirable:
  • Certified Technology Specialist (CTS)
  • Certified Technology Specialist Installer (CTS-I)
  • Crestron Digital Certified Engineer (DMC-E-4K)
  • Crestron Service Provider (CSP)
  • Experience with Extron systems
  • Experience with Biamp DSPs
  • Experience with NDI protocols
  • Experience with Dante protocols

Position Description
  • Responds to service requests, troubleshoots, and resolves urgent and non-urgent incidents related to audiovisual systems and ensures that mission-critical audiovisual systems remain operational.
  • Ability to think through problems critically, logically, and effectively in a calm manner.
  • Ability to troubleshoot audiovisual-related issues among a diverse portfolio of equipment.
  • Assists the Audiovisual Project Manager with audiovisual implementations and pilot projects, as needed.
  • Clear, effective, and respectful communication.
  • Supports user training, as needed.
