The Department of Romance Languages and Literatures seeks to
appoint a tenure-track professor of French in the 17th and 18th
centuries. The successful candidate will have knowledge of French
literature, philosophy and culture in a period extending from the
Grand Siècle to the aftermath of the French Revolution. Candidates
should also have a capacious view of the culture of this period
that extends beyond the traditional canon. We especially seek
candidates who have command of contemporary theories and expertise
in other fields.
