Job Description:

The University of Florida College of Dentistry, Department of Community Dentistry and Behavioral Science (CDBS), is seeking applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in Dental Public Health at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor. The University of Florida College of Dentistry (UFCD) is one of the leading dental schools in the United States devoted to improving and promoting oral health throughout Florida, the nation and worldwide through excellence in teaching, research, patient care and service. CDBS has an extensive community outreach program, including two research centers ( https://dental.ufl.edu/departments/communitydentistryandbehavioralscience/research-centers/ ) which provide opportunities to collaborate with existing faculty, and operates two general dentistry residency training programs.

Responsibilities for this position will be to develop a funded research program in dental public health, health disparities, epidemiology and/or health services research; teaching and mentoring DMD and graduate trainees and directing coursework in dental public health; and involvement in community outreach and clinical service delivery. This position may also have an affiliate appointment in the UF College of Public Health and Health Professions.

UFCD currently ranks among the top-five U.S. dental schools in terms of NIH research funding. The University of Florida (UF), a member of the AAU, is the largest and most comprehensive public university in the state of Florida, with large undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate educational programs. The UF Health Science Center and its six colleges (Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Health and Health Professions, Veterinary Medicine) are co-located on the Gainesville campus, with additional teaching, research, and patient care sites throughout Florida, and beyond.

Expected Salary:

Salary commensurate with credentials and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Candidates must possess a DDS/DMD degree or equivalent degree.

Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates with Masters or doctoral degrees in public health (PhD, DrPH), health services research, or health policy and a demonstrated record of teaching experience, funded research, and productivity in other scholarly activities. Board certification in Dental Public Health is desirable.
