Fellowship Program Manager

Job Description:

The Fellowship Program Manager in the Brown University School of Public Health will be part of the Information Futures Lab (IFL), a fast moving and vibrant team that is charged with reducing the impact of mis-and disinformation, propaganda, and online profiteering on the health of people and societies.

The Information Futures Fellowship Program is designed to attract practitioners with at least 2 or more years of experience and a proven track record in areas including, but not limited to: policy making, public health, libraries, education, communications, design, fact checking, journalism, healthcare, community leadership, research or government. This Fellowship provides access to skill sets and research expertise of other disciplines and industries (in the form of partnerships and mentorship) as well as the resources and freedom to innovate. These six month Fellowships are offered to 3-5 individuals twice a year in conjunction with the Fall and Spring semesters. The Fellowship is fully remote and IFL Fellows will participate in regular virtual activities throughout the six-months. In-person/on campus attendance is required for all Fellows for one week each at the beginning and end of the Fellowship.

The Fellowship Program Manager will work closely with IFL leadership to build a unique, world class and competitive program. They will take the lead in managing the Fellowship budget, develop, oversee and implement the Fellow application and selection process, coordinate and schedule all Fellowship program activities (both remote and in-person), maintain regular contact and coordinate mentorship assignments for the current and incoming cohort of Fellows, and assist as needed with grant-writing and fund-raising. The Fellowship Program Manager will facilitate a robust and active IFL Fellows alumni network and will regularly report to IFL, Brown School of Public Health senior leaders on the status of the program.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher, with 2 or more years of programmatic experience preferably in public health or higher ed setting. Coursework or experience in related fields can substitute for educational level.

Job Competencies

• Proficiency with Google Drive, MS Office, Google. Experience with Canva, Illustrator, and Mailchimp is a plus.
  
  
• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop, InDesign and Premier preferred.
