Position Summary
This is a full-time tenure-track faculty position in the Department of Psychology. An Assistant Professor teaches 21 credits per academic year, mentors students, maintains an active scholarship program and contributes to service to the department and college.

Minimum Qualifications

- Interest in undergraduate teaching
- Ability and willingness to take an active role in the college community and Department of Psychology
- A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities
- Experience mentoring undergraduate students,
- Demonstrated success teaching undergraduate students
- Experience or demonstrated interest in teaching a diverse student population
- Area of specialization is open, but the ability to teach introductory courses, sophomore and senior seminar, community, I/O, history, or cognition are desirable.
- Teaching 21 semester hours per year (7 courses)
- Hold office hours
- Collaborate with other faculty teaching common courses
- Maintaining an active scholarship program,
- Mentoring undergraduate students
- Supervising undergraduate research projects
- Performing service-related activities for the department and the college.
- Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities
- Instructors who are assigned courses in a distance format (hybrid, online, HyFlex) must have either 1) had formal professional development in online curricular design and instruction, or 2) must complete FLC’s institutional training within the first term of teaching in a distance format.
- Maintain knowledge and awareness of digital accessibility including the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 508.
- Produce and remediate digitally accessible materials in accordance with FLC standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Ability to work in a confined area.
