The Los Rios Community College District is the second-largest, two-year public college district in California, serving approximately 75,000 students in the greater Sacramento region. Position Summary
Under the general direction of the Associate Vice Chancellor of Strategy and Communications, the Regional K-16 Education Collaboratives Grant Project Director has primary responsibility for the successful fiscal, operational, and compliance administration of the Regional K-16 Education Collaboratives Grant.

The Regional K-16 Education Collaboratives Grant Project Director will have oversight over general program fiscal management practices; proposal and contract development and monitoring; practices and principles of effective fiscal management, as well as supervision, team-building, and employee motivation; contract negotiations; budget development and tracking; and continuous improvement.

The Regional K-16 Education Collaboratives Grant Project Director will interpret policies and procedures applicable to management of special programs in the District; plan, direct and coordinate programs and services.

The Regional K-16 Education Collaboratives Grant Project Director may supervise clerical, administrative and support staff and establish good community linkages and public relations.

Assignment Responsibilities
Typical duties may include, but are not limited to:

Budget Responsibilities
  • Managing all administrative, budgetary, contracting, compliance and reporting aspects for the grant as specified in the award document, communicating and problem-solving with the appropriate Program Monitor(s) as needed.
  • Participating in grantee activities; managing agreements with sub-recipients such as colleges, as needed.
  • Constructing, administering, managing and overseeing budgets.
  • Identifying the need for budget modifications and producing these modifications, as required.
  • Administering and overseeing all fiscal activities related this grant in conjunction with other responsible staff and the district’s business office for successful roll-out and completion of the project.
  • Managing expenditures- to ensure project is completed within budget. Identifying and implementing best administrative and budget practices.
Project Oversight
  • Ensuring compliance with project requirements and grant/contract provisions. Creating effective and practical project work plans.
  • Creating tactical and strategic plans for future projects aligned with the project’s mission.
  • Solving operational problems and communicating verbally and in written form on progress and solutions to the Associate Vice Chancellor, Communications and Media Relation; document best practices.
  • Identifying opportunities for program improvement.
  • Monitoring and consolidating data as defined by state grant and sub-recipient agreements.
  • Collecting data needed to determine effectiveness of projects in order to ensure meeting of grant provisions.
  • Creating, reviewing and submitting reports required.
  • Negotiating and continuously improving relationships with current and potential collaborators, clients and partners.
  • Collaborating with partners which make up the Collaborative.
  • Representing Los Rios Community College District in meetings and conference calls as required.
  • Supervising where appropriate all grant-related staff including clerical, administrative, student, and technical professional staff.
  • Working independently and under limited supervision.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
Work Year 12 month Work Schedule
The assignment may include day, evening, weekend, and/or off-campus hours.

Alternate work schedules and remote/hybrid assignments may be available depending upon the operational needs of the department and employee performance.

Total Hrs per Week/Day Special Requirements Minimum Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in accounting, business administration or related field, completed by October 1, 2022 .
  2. Four years’ of experience, including one year of experience in a lead or supervisory capacity, in financial record keeping.
  3. Have an equity-minded focus, responsiveness, and sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, including those with physical or learning disabilities as it relates to differences in learning styles; and successfully foster and support an inclusive educational and employment environment.

Physical Demands Salary $123,057 per year. LRCCD Salary Schedules Additional Salary Information Additional stipend for an earned doctorate from an accredited university.

Conditions
