Position Summary:

This position will provide administrative program support to the department leadership of the Department Neurological Surgery. This position tracks, prioritizes, organizes, and completes multiple ongoing projects in various stages of progress. This position requires an individual with excellent administrative, organizational, and interpersonal skills as well as considerable independence in planning, composing, implementation, and a thorough knowledge of relevant policies and procedures of the Department, School, University, and State of Wisconsin to ensure that the department, faculty and staff maintains conformity with those policies and procedures. This position will also assist the department leadership in the administrative affairs of the department including but not limited to budgeting, HR, Payroll, and Financials. This requires extensive knowledge of the organization, multiple missions, and program of the department and SMPH and UW Health.

-At least two or more years of related experience preferred.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
-Excellent interpersonal, human relations, verbal and written communication skills. Courteous, responsive and service oriented.
-Ability to work cooperatively to coordinate multiple projects and demonstrate independent decision-making.
-Considerable experience and proficiency in PC software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, e-mail (Outlook) and calendar software, computer database and spreadsheets is required.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED:
-Knowledge of and experience with UW Health and School of Medicine and Public Health policies and procedures.
-Knowledge of HIPPA requirements, ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion.
-Intermediate transcription skills.
