Responsibilities: Northern State University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in Human Performance/Exercise Science in the Department of Sports Sciences. Responsibilities include teaching face-to-face and online undergraduate and graduate courses in a learner-centered environment, undergraduate/graduate research, mentoring graduate students, scholarly activity, and service to the university and community.

 

Qualifications: Applicants with an earned doctorate in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, or a related field are preferred. ABDs who will complete their degree before the date of appointment will be considered. The candidate should be able to teach a wide variety of courses, including but not limited to Strength & Conditioning, Program Design, Nutrition, Motor Learning, Exercise Physiology, and Tests & Measurements. Qualified candidates should demonstrate experience employing successful pedagogical strategies in the collegiate classroom setting. Candidates should have relevant laboratory experience including Biodex operation, metabolic cart, and EKG equipment. The successful candidate will aid in the operation of the Human Performance Laboratory. Preference will be given to individuals with professional certifications (e.g., CEP, CSCS) or membership (ACSM, NSCA).
