Position description/summary: The Department of Decision Sciences of the George Washington University’s School of Business invites applications for a tenure track faculty position at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor level in the areas of Operations Management and Business Analytics, to begin as early as Fall 2023. The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses in operations management, supply chain management, pricing and revenue management, and data and decision analytics, conduct scholarly research leading to publications in top peer-reviewed journals and be actively involved in service to the university and the scholarly community.


Minimum qualifications: Applicants must hold a PhD in operations management, management science/operations research, statistics, industrial engineering, computer science, or related interdisciplinary field by date of appointment. ABD applicants will be considered but must complete all degree requirements for the PhD by the date of appointment. Applicants must also demonstrate the potential for outstanding scholarly research and excellence in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.


The Department, University, and City: The GWSB Decision Sciences department is a multidisciplinary group comprised of OR, OM, Statistics, Data Analytics, and Project Management scholars. We have 16 full-time faculty researching and teaching in the above-mentioned areas. The department houses GW’s Master’s in Business Analytics and Master’s in Project Management, and also participates in all of GW School of Business programs at the bachelors, masters, and doctoral levels. GW also hosts an Institute for integrating statistics in decision sciences (I2SDS), providing extensive resources for international business research, teaching, and outreach on our campus and beyond.
