Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Employee Engagement and Operations, this position provides support and training for administrative services processes. This position provides administrative oversight, communication, and interaction with college support staff for personnel processes and works closely with central university offices such as Human Resource Services, Budget Office and Payroll Services to research rules, regulations, processes and procedures, providing interpretation and making recommendations to assist administrators, departments and supervisors. This position assists the college administrative services unit in improving and maintaining the system processes workflow to execute procedures, generate reports, and train support staff.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Three (3) years of administrative service support.
- Experience researching, interpreting and applying laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures
- Experience developing, recommending, and evaluating program procedures and recommending changes
- Experience developing technical written materials such as policies, technical manuals or rules/regulations; providing technical program assistance and liaison with customer/provider groups; devising solutions to problems; writing concise reports.
- Experience in supervisory practices, hiring practices, equal employment opportunity/affirmative action concepts and legal requirements; word processing, spreadsheet and database software.
- Experience in program planning and implementation; designing and conducting training programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in related area.
- Experience: using Banner system, Argos system; and working in an academic setting.
- Ability: to work and communicate effectively with a variety of professionals, including faculty and other professionals in the private and public sectors; and/or seek advice from appropriate personnel.
- Familiarity with the land-grant institution and Extension system.
- Develop and maintain a good working relationship with diverse individuals from varying cultural and socio-economic backgrounds at all organizational levels.
