Job Description:

This position is responsible for coordinating, planning, developing, testing, and deploying software packaging utilizing various software tools across an array of systems for the entire institution.

Responsibilities include:

• Enterprise administration of desktop infrastructure consisting of (OS) imaging, software updates and anti-virus compliance, and configuration policies for all workstations.
• Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) administration and support.
• Server administration for systems related to desktop operations.
• Application packaging and distribution for BYOD or UT owned devices.
• Mobile device management and administration for BYOD or UT owned devices.
• Create scripts to automate and administer systems across the university.
• Enterprise-wide workstation policy administration and active directory permissions for desktop admins and computer objects.
• Encryption administration for workstations using principal tools.
• Responsible for EPIC BCA configurations and Hyperspace Administration
• Coordinate oversight of work for student technicians and provide training to enhance their career development.

All members of the University Infrastructure Team rotate on-call responsibilities to ensure 24x7x365 availability of the enterprise systems.

Minimum Qualifications:

o Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant area of study (i.e., Computer Science, Electronics, Information Systems, etc.) is required. Other areas of study will be considered with five years of relevant experience.
o Detailed knowledge of current Microsoft and Apple operating systems.
o Experience administering workstations utilizing Microsoft Configuration Manager.
o Experience with creating test plan documents.
o Basic understanding of networking infrastructure and design.
o Four years of experience maintaining computer workstations and Intel-based hardware in a large network environment (500 PCs +).
o Group policy administration.

Preferred Qualifications:

o Experience administering Microsoft Endpoint Manager and Microsoft Intune.
o Knowledge or experience utilizing Microsoft AutoPilot.
o Bitlocker administration.
o Development of workstation Security Baselines.
o Working knowledge of Mobile Device Management.
o Experience with VDI support and administration in Horizon View.
o Experience with application packaging using ThinApp, Adminstudio, Casper Suite, InstallShield and MSI repackaging.
o Script development though VB, .Net, ASP and PowerShell.

Communication and other skills:
o Excellent communication skills including verbal and written.
o Proven project management skills and experience.
o Ability to solve problems, multi-task, and ability to work both in a team and independently.
o Ability to communicate effectively with customers, peers, and supervisory staff is essential.
