Job Details

Grove City College’s Department of Education invites applications for a full-time assistant/associate professor of Education beginning in July 2023, pending final budget approval. A Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Education is required with an emphasis on secondary education.  Successful candidates will show past experience in PreK-12 settings, and successful teaching at the undergraduate level is preferred.  Grove City College’s Education program houses seventeen distinct PDE approved teacher preparation programs spanning PreK-12 areas, enrolling over 265 students. The Education Department utilizes a professional development school model of teacher preparation with heavy emphasis on ongoing field work throughout the freshmen-senior experience. The Department also houses a variety of campus resources including a preschool, curriculum library, and specialized services for career development for education majors.
 
Responsibilities include teaching a variety of undergraduate education courses, working with professional partners, engaging with student professional development opportunities, and supervising clinical experiences included embedded field experiences and student teaching. A strong preference will be given for applicants with experience teaching in high school settings. Faculty members are expected to have a classroom load of 23 to 25 contact hours per academic year.
