Marketing & Communications (MarCom) is seeking a Web Manager with careful attention to detail, proven problem-solving abilities, and excellent content creation and writing skills. This position is an integral part of the MarCom team, reporting directly to the Assistant Vice President for Advancement, supervising the Web Designer, and working closely with the entire MarCom team, the ITS department, and content experts and editors from across the college.  

 

 

 

The Web Manager provides leadership and strategy for the website, identifying aspects of the website that affect engagement and conversion, and continuously improving and optimizing the web experience for prospective and current students. The Web Manager oversees the overall functionality of the college websites and web properties, evaluates and manages web performance, facilitates ongoing improvements, and ensures that all web content adheres to federal policies on accessibility, college brand, style, and other appropriate standards. The Web Manager supports strategic marketing efforts by developing performance-driven campaign landing pages, maintaining competitive organic search engine optimization (SEO) rankings, implementing pay-per-click (PPC) advertising campaigns to keep priority programs and initiatives visible in search engine results, and monitoring site analytics to evaluate and explore ways to optimize performance.

 

 

 

The ideal candidate is a problem-solver and a leader who understands the importance of customer service and the complexities of a large web property with multiple domains. They can prioritize multiple projects and enjoy working with a highly collaborative, fun, fast-paced, creative team.

 

 

 

Responsibilities and duties include:

 

 

  • Oversees functionality, architecture and navigation of college websites and properties. Monitors and reports site analytics to AVP; finds ways to optimize performance. Checks SEO rankings frequently; optimizes content, site speed and functionality; boosts visibility of priority pages with pay-per-click (PPC) advertising. Develops performance-driven campaign landing pages; manages redirects and UTMs. Consults with clients around the college. Helps develop accurate, well-organized and engaging content consistent with college brand. Supervises web designer; prioritizes ongoing projects and web requests made by staff. Installs updates; schedules routine maintenance to ensure security and functionality. Ensures web properties are compliant with federal guidelines on accessibility. Stays current with web trends and solutions that can enhance the college’s reputation. Provides service excellence through courteous, informed, accessible and professional engagement. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

 

Required:  Bachelor’s degree in a related field and four (4) years of experience managing web properties in a CMS, following W3C standards is required. Two (2) years of experience in a supervisory role is also required. Must have experience managing multiple WordPress sites and Pay-Per-Click (PPC) ad campaigns in Google Ads. Proficiency in HTML5, XHTML, CCS, AJAX, PHP, JavaScript and W3C Web standards is also required.

 

 

 

Additional Requirements: A criminal background check will be conducted.

 

 

 

Preferred: Experience working in higher education. Certifications in Google Analytics, Google Ads, Google Tag Manager and UX. Experience with Agile and/or scrum methodologies. Experience with Asana or similar project management tools. Experience with Adobe XD and Photoshop. Experience with email marketing using Salesforce or other CRM. Experience using Site Improve or similar tools to monitor accessibility.
