Job Description

The Division of Finance and Administration is looking for a Senior Executive Assistant. This campus division includes a broad range of departments: Finance, Campus Facilities, Parking Operations, Mail Services, Cashiers, Environmental Health and Safety, and the UMKC Police Department. In this role, you will provide a high-level of administrative support to the Vice Chancellor of Finance and Administration with a focus on elevating the work of the senior leadership team.

This individual serves as a face and voice to internal and external constituents to the University. Successful candidates will be enthusiastic and have a collaborative approach to their work while maintaining the appropriate level of confidentiality in all communications and documentation. They must be highly organized and detail-oriented, able to prioritize and work on diverse projects simultaneously, and willing to work collaboratively across the organization.

Core responsibilities:
  • Provide administrative support to the Vice Chancellor and Division leadership team (e.g., calendar management for the Vice Chancellor, scheduling meetings, making travel arrangements, coordinating meeting agendas, making food and beverage arrangements, keeping meeting minutes, etc.)
  • Provide administrative support for both short and long-term division programs and projects as assigned by the Vice Chancellor (e.g., maintenance of division website, facilitating the collection and tracking of data, consolidating/developing reports, etc.)
  • Serve as a division liaison to employees and other campus constituents while representing the division’s mission, culture, and strategic priorities.
  • Keep a pulse on the day-to-day operations for the division, assisting the Vice Chancellor in identifying areas of needed attention as well as opportunities for clarity and efficiency.
  • Plan and prepare recurring events initiated by the Vice Chancellor including staff meetings, training and development activities, leadership meetings, and others as directed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • At least 4 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Full Time/Part Time

Full-time, benefit-eligible, staff position.

Salary

$48,900 to $68,815 per year, commensurate with experience, education, and internal equity.
