Description
The Colby College Environmental Studies Department invites applications for a tenure-track position in Marine Conservation and Policy at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin September 1, 2023. We invite applicants with interdisciplinary interests and expertise in human dimensions of oceans or coastal ecosystem management, policy, or conservation. We are especially interested in candidates who bridge the social and natural sciences with scholarship on dimensions of climate change, fisheries management, marine protected areas, or coastal zone management, marine extinction risk.
Maine is internationally recognized for its marine resources. The state has more than 3,500 miles of coastline, vibrant fisheries and off-shore energy industries, and is home to nationally and internationally recognized marine science and policy institutes that provide opportunities for teaching and research. We invite candidates who can build a local, national or international research program.
