The Old Dominion University Darden College of Education and Professional Studies is inviting applications for Lecturer of Human Services on our Norfolk, VA campus with an anticipated start date of July 25, 2023. The individual selected for the lecturer position in the Human Services Program will be responsible for teaching Human Services Program courses each semester, advising students, and providing leadership and service within the Human Services Program. 

Minimum Qualifications - knowledge, skills, and abilities:

    Evidence of professional identity in the field of human services. Experience teaching undergraduate students in human services or another closely related field. Experience working in a helping profession, e.g., human services, social work, community development, etc. Experience with community engagement and partnerships. Experience with the coordination, oversight, or supervision of field work experiences for entry-level human services practitioners. Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. 

Minimum Qualifications - Education or training: Master’s degree or higher in human services or a closely related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

    License or certification in a helping field, e.g., , HS-BCP, LPC, LCSW, CSAC, LSATP, LMFT, MAC, CAADC etc.  Minimum of at least 2 years of experience with mentorship, supervision, and leadership of entry level human service practitioners in the field. Professional identity in the helping field to include membership, leadership, or service in professional organizations (e.g., NOHS, ACA, NAADAC, NASW etc.). Evidence of service on a community, university, state, or national level. Familiarity with CSHSE accreditation requirements and standards, notably related to field work.
