The Assistant Director of graduate admissions manages the recruitment, conversion, and enrollment of new graduate students. This position is responsible for providing strategic direction related to enrollment strategies and communications in support of graduate recruitment efforts at NKU .

The assistant director will recruit prospective students, manage web and print images, as well as plan and execute various special recruitment and orientation events and projects with guidance from the Director of Graduate Education.

In addition, this position will also play a role in implementing academic policies and providing support for current students. Primary Responsibilities
  • Manage implementation of graduate recruitment plan for all programs to build inquiry pool and generate applications.
  • Serve as the primary contact for prospective graduate students communicating via phone and e-mail; meet with and advise prospective students.
  • Maintain and incorporate knowledge of best practices and innovative contemporary enrollment practices, including the use of outcomes-based messaging, new technologies, and effective marketing strategies for graduate students.
  • Create and execute graduate communication plan; coordinate all outgoing communications to prospects and applicants.
  • Maintain centralized graduate admissions prospect database (Slate CRM software) and provide the director with reports from both database and student records system as needed.
  • Create and execute all advertising and marketing materials for a cohesive web and print presence; develop and implement social media strategies.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of all recruitment and marketing activities; suggest areas of improvement.
  • Provide professional development opportunities to graduate program directors in the areas of recruitment and admissions, customer service, and student communications.
  • Maintain Office of Graduate Education website and NKU Graduate Admissions website.
  • Assist director with current student policy adherence via transfer credit and records maintenance, as well as graduation processing.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree; master’s degree preferred.
  • Three years prior experience in admissions and recruitment is required, with preference given to graduate education.
  • Able to be self-directed with excellent organizational skills.
  • Experience in working with communication plans; candidate should have excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with prospective graduate students, faculty, staff, alumni, graduate program directors, and others.
  • Thorough understanding of the educational goals and objectives of NKU and specific graduate programs.
  • Experience working with computerized information systems is essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate within a team environment.
This position has a flexible work schedule but requires an on-campus presence.
