Job Description Summary

The Department of History at Auburn University seeks to make a tenure-track appointment in African- American History at either the assistant or associate professor rank. Period and specialization within African-American history are open. The appointment will begin August 16, 2023. The faculty member will teach in the World History core curriculum, graduate course in modern U.S. history, and undergraduate and graduate courses in the area of specialty, including in the Africana studies minor. A Ph.D. in History, American Studies, or Africana Studies is required at the time employment begins.

The successful candidate must meet eligibility requirements for work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the term of employment.
