The Instructional Designer & Online Course Coordinator is responsible for providing assistance to faculty across the University in online, remote and hybrid course design and professional development.

Essential functions will include:

  1. Work with the School of Education, School of Nursing, School of Pharmacy, and the School of Arts, Sciences and Business to develop online, remote and hybrid courses that meet best practices and accessibility standards.
  2. Establish and maintain communications with School faculty and our online partner.
  3. Review and update the online course waterfall for course development as necessary.
  4. Develop and administer faculty professional development workshops for online, remote, and hybrid pedagogy and instructional tools.
  5. Collect participant data and update database of faculty participation.
  6. Serve on University committees, taskforces, workgroups, etc. as designated

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge: Masters degree in instructional design from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience: A minimum of two years professional experience working in higher education as an instructional designer. Teaching experience preferred.
  • Skills/Aptitude: Energetic, self-starter, who takes initiative in planning and problem solving. Candidates must have proficiency in instructional design. Candidates must possess excellent organizational and communication skills, have the ability to work individually and collaboratively with others, and appropriately prioritize competing responsibilities. Proficiency with multiple instructional tools and Learning Management Systems required. Candidate must have the ability to develop and present professional development workshops to faculty face-to-face, as well as through a video platform.
  • Working Conditions: Normal office environment (walking, sitting, climbing stairs, reaching, etc.). Some occasional light physical demands such as bending, carrying, kneeling, lifting, and pushing may be required. Some evening and weekend hours may be required
