Job Summary
The College of Lake County is looking to add an Instructional Assistant to the team. The Instructional Assistant will provide administrative and supervisory support for the Explore Youth Academic Enrichment Program, Engage STEM Career Exploration Program and the Fast-Paced Program for Gifted Youth.

Required Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
- Minimum of two years of experience working with parents and students in an educational setting.
- Minimum of one year of experience teaching children.
- Excellent two-way communication and relationship skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work successfully with others in a team environment.
- Person of integrity.
- Maturity and experience necessary to make responsible decisions that maintain student safety, parent relationships and program integrity in all matters.
- Commitment to communicate program issues, questions and needs to senior program coordinator in a timely manner.
- Dependable, reliable, self-starter.
- Available to work flexible schedule.
- Proficient in using educational technology (email, MS Office, internet, etc.)
- Aptitude for and willingness to learn department software ( ACCESS, Destiny, Class Climate, etc.)
- Willingness to become expert in program details, policies and procedures.
- Strong work ethic.
- Proven ability to work effectively and constructively with
persons of diverse cultures, language groups, and abilities;
demonstrate sensitivity to and ability to work with the diverse
academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds of
community college students, faculty, and staff, including those
with disabilities; establish and maintain effective working
relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

Special Instructions Summary
This is a part-time flex position and employment shall be on an at-will basis, the duration of which shall be in accordance with the needs of the College of Lake County.
Part-time flex employees are not eligible to participate in any benefits program at the College, including tuition reimbursement, tuition waiver, health insurance or paid time off.

Summary of Essential Functions
• Act as program liaison between parents, CLC Grayslake Personal Enrichment staff, Southlake staff, Lakeshore staff, CLC Police Department and Facilities Department.
• Assist in preparation of curriculum materials and class supplies.
• Set up, take down and administer sign-in/sign-out area signs, tables, chairs, equipment, parent/student information, sign-in/sign-out materials, promotional and procedural documents and instructor materials and supplies.
• Provide administrative support as needed, including data entry, filing, computer work, etc.
• Keep program coordinator apprised of issues, questions and program needs.
• Coordinate inter-campus communication and program supplies.
• Supervise parent sign-in and sign-out of students.
• Provide program information to Explore, Engage and Fast-Paced families.
• Provide classroom assistance and student supervision as needed.
• Organize, secure and process program-related documents.
• Provide nightly program updates via email to Personal Enrichment office.
• Troubleshoot problems with some independence.
• Other assigned program support duties as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality.
