The Dept. of Social Work in the College of Arts & Sciences at Seattle University (SU) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor position starting in September 2023. The SU Social Work Dept. has a CSWE-accredited Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and Master of Social Work (MSW) programs.

The responsibilities for the position include teaching primarily in the BSW and MSW macro social work practice sequences (e.g., policy practice, practice with communities and organizations), engaging in ongoing discipline-based research, and performing university, college, and department service.  The rank will be determined by level of experience.

The minimum requirements for the position are: a doctorate degree in Social Welfare/Social Work or a closely related field, an MSW degree from a CSWE-accredited social work program, and successful teaching experience in social work macro practice courses.

Strong preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated competence in teaching social work macro practice and theory courses from an anti-oppressive perspective and a minimum of two years’ post-MSW social work macro practice experience.
