Job Details
The AJ Drexel Autism Institute is seeking an experienced clinician to join our Clinical Core team as a Clinical Psychologist. The Autism Institute’s mission is to pioneer research to better understand autism and drive impactful change in our communities and worldwide. The Clinical Psychologist position will support clinical work at AJDAI as part of research studies and community contracts. Strong applicants will have experience conducting evaluations with young children with development delays and autism.
Essential Functions
The emphasis of this position is to provide assessments and for autistic individuals and their families, including:
- The Clinical Psychologist will conduct clinical work in AJDAI Clinical Core as part of diagnostic assessment teams for autistic individuals. Activities will include collecting assessment measures, scoring, interpreting, providing oral and written feedback as part of interdisciplinary teams including clinical psychologists, school psychologists, and behavior analysts.
- The successful applicant will have exposure to or experience administering the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule – Second Edition (ADOS-2). Extensive experience in ADOS-2 administration is not a requirement as training can be provided through the position.
- The Clinical Psychologist will also supervise junior clinicians (i.e., undergraduate/graduate student trainees, medical students, postdoctoral fellows) in assessment and/or intervention and participate in didactics, including individual and group supervision, case conferences, and research seminars.
- The successful applicant will possess the ability to provide sensitive, thoughtful, and supportive feedback to parents as well as the ability to work well with team members, parents, young children, and colleagues in the community. The Clinical Psychologist may also be involved in consultation and program development with community providers, schools, and interdisciplinary clinical and research teams.
- The ideal candidate for this position will have a background in the assessment of autism. There may be opportunity to receive specialized training in other evidence-based tools and intervention approaches, including the Autism Diagnostic Interview-Revised (ADI-R), the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM), and the Research Units in Behavioral Intervention (RUBI) Parent Coaching model. Strong applicants will be highly motivated to increase both their professional skills and knowledge in providing evidence-based and family centered care, and interacting successfully with those from diverse cultural, ethnic, and educational backgrounds. - PhD or Doctorate in clinical, school psychology, or a related field
- 5 years of relevant experience in the context of graduate training/internship/postdoc
- Pennsylvania licensed or license-eligible
- Prior training and experience providing clinical services to individuals with developmental disabilities
