    POSITION DESCRIPTION

    The Department of Music at the University of California, San Diego invites applications for an Assistant Professor with broad expertise in computer and electronic music. Possible areas of research specialization may include: sound synthesis and processing, interaction and sound design, game sound, machine learning, virtual and augmented reality as applied to music and sound.

    Our Department aspires to constantly push at the frontiers of music-making as a form of research. UC San Diego's many research programs and institutes are an ideal supportive environment for collaboration and cross-disciplinary work.     The successful candidate would be expected to advise graduate students across the department's programs, conduct research seminars, teach graduate and undergraduate classes, and contribute to the curricular development.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
    Must be ABD (all but dissertation) by time of application or pursing a degree (PhD, DMA, MFA) in a relevant field.
