Grant Program Manager



Job Summary:

This full-time position is a member of the team that is responsible for managing pre- and post-award, non­financial activities for sponsored programs and research. This position provides program administration and management of grants and contracts in support of multiple faculty members, including supporting university faculty in managing complex portfolios of transdisciplinary teams. Under the general supervision of the Director of Sponsored Programs and Research, this individual is responsible for proposal development for grants and contracts submitted to diverse funders. Technical writing and support and creating reports using a variety of software packages and formats are key duties. Coordinates proposal.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Program administration and management of grants and contracts In support of 40% multiple faculty members and trans-disciplinary research teams, including technical writing and support, and creating reports using a variety of software.
  • Coordinates proposal review and production, and ensures that materials 35% conform to form and format requirements, procedures, guidelines, and schedules.
  • Proposal development for grants and contracts submitted to diverse funders.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree In business, management, or other related dlscipline; one preferred.

Experience:

Four years directly related experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Excellent ability to effectively communicate both verbal and written thoughts, Ideas, and facts.
  • Excellent grant writing and project management skills.
  • Writes and presents information concisely, Interprets and understands written information and can listen attentively to verbal and non-verbal cues that lead to a deeper understanding.
  • Ability to maintain high standards with the work performed and maintain awareness with trends and influences.
  • Assume personal responsibility for all outcomes; makes effective and timely decisions.
  • Effective use of technology.
  • Skilled in spreadsheet and database software applications.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Working knowledge of research and sponsored programs administration; grants and contract policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • General knowledge and skills in the use of word processing, database, and spreadsheet software to produce and submit documents and maintain information.
  • Ability to learn Federal, State and local funding agency requirements related to grants and contracts.
  • Ability to learn and understand legal documents, contracts, applications, and awards.
  • Follow oral and written instructions.
  • Work in an independent and self-directed manner.
  • Skills in planning, organizing, prioritizing, and executing complicated and continuing grant and contract assignments with general supervision.
  • Work cooperatively with others and demonstrates professional, ethical, respectful, and courteous behavior when interacting with others.
