Job Description

The Innovation Law Center Program Manager is responsible for assisting the Executive Director and Managing Director with overall management of the significant growth of the ILC program, editing, managing, and completion of program technology commercialization projects that are instrumental to the Law 815 class, as well as with multiple ILC program initiatives, reporting, and with the development and implementation of an innovation incubator.
Additional responsibilities include researching and exploring state, federal, and private grant opportunities for the ILC . Working with Executive Director to explore and develop corporate or non-profit partnerships for funding the ILC and job placement for students in the ILC program (internships, externships, summer employment, fulltime employment); assisting the Executive Director with business development initiatives; and assisting ILC staff with marketing, presentations, and overall promotion of the ILC through social media and other University outlets.
The position will require at least a one (1) year commitment, which may be extended at the discretion of the Executive Director.
A recent graduate of the ILC and COL is an ideal candidate.

Qualifications
  • This job will preferably require completion of a J.D. degree through Syracuse University College of Law as well as completion of LAW -815, Innovation Law Practicum.
  • The preferred candidate will have prior experience working in the Innovation Law Center.
  • USPTO Patent Bar eligibility is preferred, but not required.
Job Specific Qualifications
  • The ideal candidate with possess exceptional writing, interpersonal, and time management skills for this energetic and diverse position.
  • The position seeks a motivated individual that has a proclivity for all disciplines of engineering and science, technology innovation, and entrepreneurship.
  • Deep knowledge of intellectual property law and technology commercialization process is preferable.
Responsibilities
  • Assisting the Executive Director to manage the significant growth of the ILC program, editing, managing, and completion of program technology commercialization projects that are instrumental to the Law 815 class. Assist Executive Director with multiple ILC program initiatives, and with the development and implementation of an Innovation Incubator Center at the COL .
  • Researching additional state, federal, and private funding and grant opportunities for the Innovation Law Center, and assist with reporting obligations.
  • Researching and developing corporate or non-profit partnerships for funding the Innovation Law Center and job placement for students.
  • Research and drafting articles and other publications for the ILC . Developing marketing and promoting the ILC through social media and University outlets.
  • Assist Executive Director with presentations, speaking engagements, and other business development opportunities.
