Description:
Are you looking for an opportunity to enhance your technical skills and experience while working with HR systems, data analysis and management and project workflows? The Office of Human Resources at Pratt Institute is seeking a detail-oriented, tech-savvy HRIS Intern who will assist the HRIS Manager with data projects and system issues. This paid internship will give you day-to-day exposure to our online timekeeping system as well as experience with other HRIS projects. If you are interested in strengthening your technical and data skills and acquiring experience in a Human Resources Office, and have good analytical and problem-solving skills as well as ability to troubleshoot systems, then this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

On a typical day you will be required to:
  • Provide functional support for our timekeeping system (UKG Ready), troubleshoot and address system errors, and serve as the resource person for employee timekeeping inquiries
  • Use query tools to generate reports from HRIS databases in order to identify and resolve problems, including data errors and inconsistencies
  • Assist with inputting data on timecards (work schedules, supervisors, paid time off adjustments, etc.) to ensure accurate and timely timecard approvals that meet payroll deadlines
  • Analyze HR data to determine issues, outcomes and or opportunities


This internship will run for the academic year of 2021-2022, offering 25 hours per week at the rate of $17.00 per hour. The ideal candidate will be a college undergrad or graduate student in a HR Management, Data Analytics, or Information Sciences program.


Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a related field, desirable.

Experience: Six months of general office experience and/or project management experience is a plus.

Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel required. Should have knowledge of system processes and an ability to analyze and troubleshoot system issues, compile reports and interpret and analyze data. Understanding of federal and state overtime regulations and ability to review and interpret related union contract language a plus.
