Overview
Reporting to the Director of the McGraw Center, the Senior Associate Director for Teaching Initiatives and Programs for Faculty will lead the development and delivery of all programs and services for faculty in support of the University’s teaching mission. With supervisory oversight of one professional staff member, the Senior Associate Director oversees the TIPF budget in consultation with the Center Manager and the Center Director. This position sits on the Faculty Council for Teaching and Learning, the selection committee for the Graduate Student Mentoring Award, and other committees as assigned.

Responsibilities
- Serve as the principal contact in the McGraw Center for individual faculty members seeking advice on teaching and the development of proposals for innovative course design.
- With the Center Director, develop and deliver services and programs for faculty, including orientations for new faculty and workshops on course design and assessment, digital pedagogy, inclusive teaching strategies, and other related topics that meet faculty interests.
- Promote the visibility, purpose, and objectives of the Center and lead campus-wide conversations on the art and practice of teaching across all disciplines.
- Participate in campus-wide and national conversations about pedagogical innovation and learning.
- Collaborate with the Center Director, the Senior Associate Director for Blended and Online Learning Design, and the Director of Educational and Classroom Technologies to set the pedagogical direction for digital pedagogy and online teaching and learning.
- Supervise the Assistant Director for Educational and Program Assessment to ensure optimization of resources, proper prioritization of work, and the preparation of an annual report.
- Create and manage a tracking system for faculty consultation data.
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL
- An earned doctorate (PhD) and a minimum of 5 years of related experience including managerial and mentorship experience in an academic setting
- Significant teaching experience at the collegiate level and demonstrated record of teaching excellence
- Demonstrated experience in creating and leading successful faculty development programs across the disciplines
- Significant experience providing faculty consultations and conducting faculty teaching observations
- Evidence of strategic planning and experience with program assessment
- Demonstrable knowledge of the literature and research in teaching and learning, higher education, and academic leadership
- Record of active participation in, and contribution to, national and/or international professional organizations in teaching and learning
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in higher education
- Evidence of strong organizational skills and program development expertise
- Superior written and oral communication skills
- Ability to give and receive constructive feedback
- Highest standard of personal integrity, tact, and discretion
- PhD in a discipline taught at Princeton University
