  • Randolph-Macon College invites applications for a Part-Time Simulation Technician. This position will be assigned work for approximately 16 hours per week. The Simulation Technician for the Nursing Department reports to the Nursing Simulation and Skills Lab Coordinator. This position will assist in the set-up, operation, and management of simulations in the nursing simulation center. The Simulation Technician works independently with general supervision and exercises judgment within defined guidelines and practices to determine appropriate action.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide setup/takedown/moulage of simulations;
  • Program, test and run simulation scenarios for faculty simulation facilitators;
  • Use simulator software programs to execute simulations according to simulation templates and specifications, interpreting and implementing changes when necessary;
  • Manage audio-visual system to capture recordings of simulations;
  • Restock simulation supplies;
  • Reset lab equipment for subsequent sessions; and
  • Other duties as directed by the lab coordinator to support nursing lab functions.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:
  • Bachelors Degree in a related field;
  • Basic working knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, pharmacology and medical terminology;
  • Competent computer skills with proficiency in MicroSoft software applications and Apple iPad basics;
  • Ability to work independently under limited supervision, including learning new software/hardware;
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and troubleshoot technical issues; and
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Preferred:
  • Healthcare experience/knowledge – LPN, CNA, EMT, MA, or similar credential, or equivalent demonstrated experience;
  • Experience in healthcare simulation.
