The Princeton University Art Museum, one of the nation’s preeminent cultural institutions in an academic setting, seeks applications for the role of Digital Asset Coordinator. Reporting to the Associate Director for Communication and Information, the Digital Asset Coordinator will work in collaboration with staff from across the institution to facilitate the Museum’s ongoing digital asset management program which is focused upon the storage, description, distribution, and retention of the Museum’s digital assets, including images, video, audio, and documents.

In this role, the Digital Asset Coordinator will lead efforts to define and codify institutional standards, workflows, and policies that will form three core aspects of the Museum’s digital asset program: ingestion and storage; metadata and description; and access and use.

The Digital Asset Coordinator will also act as the primary product owner for the Museum’s digital asset management system, Atrium. In this capacity, the Digital Asset Coordinator will collaborate primarily with staff in Communication and Information to establish and maintain a program of user onboarding, training, and support. They will also work closely with the Art Information Systems Specialist and other staff to translate user needs into system configurations and to help guide future system development and integrations.

This role will also share responsibility with others in the department regarding management of image rights and permissions activities.



    Expertise in museum digital asset management including: Ingestion and storage workflows and protocols; metadata and description schema and taxonomies; and access and usage policies
  • Close understanding of digital asset management integration between digital asset management platform with related collections information, content management, and project management databases
  • 5+ years’ experience in museum or cultural heritage institution operating a digital asset management system
  • Record of exemplary attention to detail and cross-team collaboration;
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent


    Experience with Resource Space and Portfolio digital asset management platforms.
  • Familiarity with The Museum System (TMS) collections information platform.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 platform and Airtable project management databases.
