Brescia University, Owensboro, Kentucky, invites nominations and applications for the position of Vice President for Student Affairs/Dean of Students. (Anticipated starting date: January 2023) The VPSA, who as chief student development officer, reports to the President and serves as a member of the President’s Cabinet, is primarily responsible for enhancing and monitoring all aspects of student life and personal development outside the classroom. Essential duties are outlined in the job description, which is available upon request.

 

Description: Brescia University, a small Catholic institution sponsored by the Ursuline Sisters of Mt. St. Joseph, offers higher education in the Ursuline academic tradition, emphasizing the liberal arts and preparing its students for successful careers and for service to others. An independently supported Catholic co-educational institution, Brescia is regionally accredited to award Associate, Baccalaureate, and Master degrees and a variety of certificates. Brescia’s total enrollment is approximately 850-900 students.

 

Location: Brescia University is located near the banks of the Ohio River in Owensboro, Kentucky, population 55,000.  The city is easily accessible with a local airport and within two hours of airports in Louisville, Kentucky, Nashville, Tennessee, and Evansville, Indiana. The university is within walking distance of a revitalized downtown area, including museums and performing arts center.

 

Qualifications: A successful candidate will have at least a Master’s degree in student affairs or a related field, with at least five years’ experience in higher education student affairs administration. Strong leadership and critical thinking skills are required along with the ability to manage multiple tasks. Successful candidate should be a practicing Catholic or have had significant experience with Catholic higher education.
