Responsibilities:

The Administrative Specialist provides an advanced level of administrative support to the Office of the Dunton Family Dean under a minimal level of supervision. Duties include organizing and scheduling meetings, managing, and troubleshooting meeting technology, preparing and submitting expense reports, maintaining office equipment, email communications, filing, mail sorting, answering department telephones, and procurement of office supplies and other related expenses. This individual is responsible for serving as the front desk customer service representative and first-line resource for all visitors and callers to the Office of the Dunton Family Dean. The Administrative Specialist will assist with college level events, including leadership meetings, workshops, conferences, and seminars as required. Duties and tasks other than core responsibilities are often varied and more complex. Assignments may require ingenuity and originality. Serves as the go-to person and acts as a resource to others in the resolution of problems.

Qualifications:

Advanced level of skill required to create documents (e.g., communications, exhibits, spreadsheets, etc.) for presentations and ad hoc reports, update various online tools, and manage special projects. Applies analytical skills and business knowledge to perform tasks that are varied and may be somewhat complex at times. Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, make sound decisions and work with minimal direction. Initiative, persistence, and business acumen. High level of organizational skills, attention to detail, diplomacy, customer service with a demonstrated ability to simultaneously handle multiple tasks. Must be able to handle sensitive material, maintain highest level of confidentiality, set priorities, and work independently and as part of a team. High level of proficiency with MS Office products, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required. Individual will work with limited supervision. Skills and knowledge required for this position are typically through a bachelor's degree or equivalent and at least 2-4 years' relevant experience.
