Northwest (PNW) invites applications for a tenure-track position in
the Department of Computer Science at the rank of assistant
professor with an anticipated start date of August 15, 2022.
Computer Science offers a Bachelor of Science and a Master of
Science degree. Both degree programs are rapidly growing. Join a
high performing team of faculty as we expand our curricular
offerings including interdisciplinary offerings and continue our
work with local companies.
The position is open to all research areas in Computer Science,
with preference given to candidates in the field of Artificial
Intelligence, Data Science, Software Engineering, or Computer and
Network Security. A Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, or a related
discipline is required by the start date of the position. The
successful candidate will have potential for high-quality scholarly
research leading to peer-reviewed publications; will have
demonstrated strength in or strong potential for outstanding
teaching contributions; and will exhibit evidence of the ability to
work in a collaborative environment.

fulfill the responsibilities associated with those courses, such as
curriculum development, assessment, and student mentoring.
- Providing suitable service to the department, university,
profession, and/or community.

over 1,270 undergraduate students and 140 graduate students across
a wide range of academic programs. The college includes Departments
of Biological Sciences, Chemistry/Physics, Mathematics/Statistics,
and the School of Engineering.
PNW’s School of Engineering within CES
comprises three departments: Computer Science, Electrical and
Computer Engineering, and Mechanical and Civil Engineering. Closely
affiliated with the School are two distinguished and award-winning
research centers, the Center for Innovation through Visualization
and Simulation (CIVS) and the Purdue Water Institute (PWI).
The search committee will begin reviewing applications for the
