Job Title Assistant Professor of Theology-New Testament Rank Assistant Professor Tenure Information Tenure Track Job Description
The Providence College Theology Department invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position in the New Testament and its reception. Strong candidates should be conversant in both modern approaches to reading the New Testament and its reception in the patristic, medieval, and/or modern periods.

Candidates should be prepared to offer courses on the New Testament as well as other areas of theology as part of the College’s core curriculum. Candidates should also demonstrate a commitment to and competence for teaching in the Providence College team-taught interdisciplinary Development of Western Civilization program. There will also be the opportunity to teach in the Department’s graduate program. In addition to a robust record of teaching and research in the area of New Testament and its reception, the successful candidate will be committed to the Providence College’s quest to build a community informed by justice, inclusion, and charity.

Providence College is a Roman Catholic four-year liberal arts institution conducted under the auspices of the Eastern Province Dominican Friars and seeks candidates who can strongly affirm and contribute enthusiastically to its mission. Tenure-track faculty appointments at Providence College offer competitive salaries and full benefits. Additionally, the College provides reimbursement of relocation costs, and financial support for faculty development. Faculty may also apply for a semester-long paid sabbatical to support their scholarship before tenure. Essential Duties
The standard teaching load is 3/3, and most classes have 15-25 students enrolled. Education and Experience Required
A successful candidate will have an earned doctorate in New Testament or an allied discipline no later than July 1, 2023.
