Assistant Director of Financial Aid
Assist in the administration of multi-faced federal and
institutional financial aid programs. Determine financial need and
awards while simultaneously/counseling parents and student
culturally/respectfully on aid programs consisting of grants,
loans, and work study opportunities.
1. Determine financial need for a caseload of prospective/current
undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education students. Create
offers of financial aid based on current regulations/guidance and
disburse to the student account. Communicate the College
methodology (internal/external) and the type/level of awards
available/offered in support of recruitment and retention
2. Create consumer information and publication materials
(web/paper), office email/letter templates, and presentations.
Develop a detailed/layered plan on how to market this information
to students/parents inside and outside the classroom.
Create/maintain an office wide communication campaign/calendar to
prevent saturation of information and control/influence office
3. Create materials and content for office website and social media
platforms. Develop a detail campaign to market information to where
students and parents are obtaining electronic information.
4. Create a branded, dynamic, multi-faceted financial literacy
campaign that focuses on developing the skills needed for financial
planning, creating a budget, tracking spending, learning techniques
to pay off debt and understanding/calculating interest on loans
through the use of education/interactive tools, guides, and
resources focused on understanding true cost.
5. Re-determine financial need for a caseload of
prospective/current undergraduate, graduate, and continuing
education students in light of new or changed information not on
original applications. Revise offers of financial aid based on
professional judgement utilizing institutional policy and guidance
set forth from the DOE .
6. Liaison (Dean’s Office, Admission Office) and point of contact
for all aspects of the Multicultural Scholarship Program ( MSP );
including scholarship/books awards and programming. Serve as a
standing member of the committee.
7. Serve as a standing committee member on the Academic Affairs
Service Excellence Committee. Work collaboratively with other
committee members across the division to develop and offer programs
focused on a variety of service oriented topics.

Education and Experience Required
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution required.
• Three to five years of need analysis (Federal Methodology and/or
Institutional Methodology) or an equivalent combination of
education and experience required.
• Progressive and thorough understanding of federal/state
regulations governing financial aid programs.
