Short Description

Ithaca College Office of Student Accessibility Services is inviting applicants to apply for our Testing and Technology Services Assistant position. This on-going position is a 22.5 hours per week position, from August - May each year.

Job Summary

Primary responsibilities include assisting in coordinating testing services, supporting the Assistive Technology Specialist as available, and with administrative functions of Student Accessibility Services. This includes monitoring the testing center, overseeing student employees, processing emails, uploading exams, communicating with faculty and students and, assisting with the processing of accessible materials for students registered with our office.

Duties include:

  1. Assist Testing Specialist with providing accommodated testing services for registered students with disabilities.
  2. Maintain integrity and security of testing process.
  3. Process testing emails.
  4. Maintain computers used for testing purposes and create service requests for machines that are out of order.
  5. Monitor test takers with software designed to observe students using testing accommodations.
  6. Assist with hiring, training, and supervision of student employees.
  7. Work with Assistive Technology Specialist to provide accessible course material.
  8. Work in conjunction with the specialists and manager to process and distribute accommodation plans to faculty and appropriate campus offices.
  9. Serve as a resource to students and parents regarding Student Accessibility Services.
  10. Maintain accurate records and compile statistical information for reporting purposes. Assist in ensuring confidentiality and security of office facilities and records.
  11. In collaboration with Testing and Assistive Technology Specialists, maintain and develop guides or training materials for students, faculty, and student staff in relation to testing and technology accommodations.
  12. Provide administrative support to the Manager, which includes bulk mailings, reports and handling confidential material.
  13. Assist in the staffing and planning of special events or functions.
  14. Other duties as assigned.


Reports to: Student Accessibility Manager

Pay Range: $16.69 - $18.30 per hour
