Among its many functions, the office produces the Colgate Scene, operates the university’s official social media accounts, manages the university’s web presence, conducts media relations, coordinates admission marketing, and supports advancement fundraising communications. Colgate University is seeking qualified candidates for a Advancement Communications Manager within the Office of Communications. Accountabilities
Accountabilities:
Reporting to the Campaign Communications Director, this position is focused on institutional advancement communications. The advancement communications manager is accountable for content creation for cross-platform communications that support, increase the engagement of, and steward alumni, parents, and other supporters, in the areas of fundraising, career services, and alumni relations. Professional Experience/ Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years experience in advancement, alumni relations, communications, project management, marketing, recruitment, public relations, or journalism.
- Excellent writing, editing, publication, and project management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to be creative while under pressure.
- Demonstrated ability to listen and respond to differing points of view and the ability to move towards resolution.
- Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite and Google docs is required.
- Must be capable of creating and maintaining productive and collegial working relationships with a culturally diverse group of faculty, staff, students, and visitors on a daily basis.
- Knowledge or experience in higher education advancement or alumni relations preferred.
- A minimum of Bachelor’s degree is required.
- A Bachelor’s degree in liberal arts, communications, journalism, public relations, or related field is desirable.
