Sr Project Manager - Faculty Development



The Senior Project Manage-Faculty Development works closely with faculty and administrators to help build the necessary infrastructure required to deploy a robust faculty development portfolio of opportunities. CCC’s faculty development framework ensures that all priorities and programming are aligned to the district and college strategic plans . The framework builds from the five key talents of teaching used throughout the tenure process and includes additional aspirational objectives for faculty development.

At CCC, faculty development curriculum and programing are designed and implemented through faculty collaboration. District level programming is deployed that provides advanced and/or discipline specific development needs, helps to build faculty leaders, celebrates faculty innovation, and aligns with the work happening at the college centers for teaching and learning,

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE

Reporting to the District Director of Accreditation, Assessment and Faculty Development, the Senior Project Manager-Faculty Development manages and provides oversight for the implementation and continuous improvement of the faculty development framework and supporting all other faculty development activities including the CCC tenure process. Performs related duties as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Manages the implementation of faculty professional development projects and assessment initiatives, as assigned by the Director of Accreditation, Assessment and Faculty Development.
  • Facilitates the development of a sustainable model for CCC ’ s faculty development program .
  • Manages progress and outcomes on each of the eight areas of the faculty development plan .
  • Recruits and works closely with faculty in the development and deployment of faculty development programming.
  • Connects with district and college partners to ensure successful implementation of the faculty development programs, including leading meetings with key stakeholders and scheduling professional development sessions.
  • Implements methodology to track and evaluate the impact of efforts and best practices over time at colleges and the district.
  • Conducts analysis, prepares presentations, produces reports, memos and briefs on progress and outcomes of project initiatives.
  • Provides reliable, detail-oriented project management expertise to ensure that planned initiatives achieve their objectives and that all necessary stakeholders are included in the process.
  • Creates comprehensiveproject plans, including necessary inputs, critical stakeholders, milestones, deliverables, andevaluationplans.
  • Coord inates and monitors project executionincluding proactively anticipating and solving problems, and tracking and reporting on results.
  • Tracks progress against milestones and resolves any challenges or barriers in collaboration with team members and stake holders.
  • Effectively communicates expectationsand updatesto team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Supportsand advisesleadership in the development and execution of faculty development initiativeswithin the CCC system.
  • Engages faculty and administrators to plan and deploy faculty development week activities.
  • Creates and leads a learning community on the scholarship of teaching and learning and/or scholarly approaches to teaching
  • Works closely with CCC assessment centers and includes assessment as a critical component of teaching and learning PD.
  • Performs related duties as required.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

Reports To District Director-Accreditation, Assessment, & Faculty Development

Direct Supervision None

QUALIFICATIONS
  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • A Master's degree in Education or a related field preferred
  • Five years of work experience in the areas of faculty development, student learning outcome assessment, curriculum development or related area within a higher education institution
  • Experience teaching in a higher education institution strongly desired
  • A combination of education and experience may be taken into consideration based on the
applicant’s credentials, provided the minimum degree requirement is met
  • Demonstrated experience leading projects or programs from concept through implementation
  • Demonstrated commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)
  • Excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills using tools such as MS PowerPoint
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in team-based settings and within a culturally diverse environment
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Strong data analysis skills using MS Excel and other data analysis tools as needed
