Position Description:

Bowling Green State University (BGSU) is seeking applicants for a 9-month non-tenure track position as a faculty member of a BSN program at the Assistant or Associate Clinical Professor level, starting January 2023. The curriculum incorporates a commitment to nursing, health care, diversity, leadership, development of clinical judgment, QSEN, ANA, and professional growth.  This position is reviewed annually for renewal.

Primary Responsibilities:

Provide clinical learning to BSN students, assess learning needs of the student, plan for achievement of educational outcomes, implement student learning activities and evaluate student achievement. Promote learner development and socialization to the role of the nurse by providing resources to diverse learners and initiating appropriate referrals for students with academic difficulties. Participate effectively in continuous quality improvement, curriculum design and evaluation of program outcomes reflective of evidence-based practice, the school philosophy, and the university mission and vision.  Provide leadership for change to promote an innovative and effective educational environment.  Provide direction to teaching assistants and preceptors who are supervising nursing students in the clinical area. Utilize teaching methods which are varied and appropriate for the learning outcomes desired. 

Qualifications:

A Master of Science Degree in Nursing with at least 2 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse (or completion of a Master of Science in Nursing degree by date of hire). If the Master of Science Degree is not in nursing, the Bachelor of Science Degree must be in nursing. An active, valid, unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the United States of America (an Ohio license must be obtained prior to hire date).  Preference will be given to a Registered Nurse with a Master of Science in Nursing degree or terminal degree, Certified Nurse Educator, previous teaching experience in a BSN program, experience in an academic setting, and enrolled in a terminal degree program.

Salary

Competitive and commensurate with peer institution levels for rank and position and in keeping with candidate’s experience and credentials.
