The Office of Communications, Marketing, and Brand Management is responsible for managing the college’s internal and external communications, with an emphasis on building brand awareness and maintaining a clear and consistent visual identity. The office handles all media relations and crisis communications. It is also responsible for the production of institutional advertising and print and electronic publications as well as for the maintenance of and the college’s official social media accounts.

The web content manager is responsible for maintaining TCNJ’s website, ensuring content updates are made in a timely manner and brand standards are upheld. Other essential job functions include:
  • Ensuring that all college websites are audited yearly for outdated content, broken links and graphics and optimized for search engines, following the schedule outlined in the annual web review calendar.
  • Managing a team of student web editors.
  • Providing training and tutorials on how to use the WordPress content management system to other editors on campus outside CMBM.
  • Working closely with the CMBM Web T eam to devise, implement, and communicate a web content strategy that aligns college brand and marketing goals.
  • Assisting the college’s Web Team in building new sites and upgrading the design of existing sites.
  • Working with the Digital Content Editor and Head Media Relations Officer to post/distribute timely web and multimedia content to TCNJ’s homepage and news feeds.
  • Working with the TCNJ Magazine editorial staff to publish the digital version of the magazine.
  • Running web accessibility reports .
  • Staying up to date on industry trends and adjusting the content strategy as needed.
Main Responsibilities:
  • Responding to requests for web updates and/or new content
  • Auditing existing webpages according to annual review calendar
  • Conducting WordPress training classes
  • Supervising/assisting student web interns
  • Planning w eb strategy
  • Running web accessibility reports
  • Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
  • Knowledge of best practices in web design

  • Specific experience with using WordPress as a content management platform for complex institutions

  • Intermediate knowledge of HTML and CSS

  • Ability to use Photoshop and Google Analytics

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s d egree in m arketing, c ommunications, j ournalism, English, i nteractive m ultimedia, or c omputer s cience required.
  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, web design, and user experience.
  • Experience in web c ontent m arketing preferred.
  • Strong WordPress, Adobe Photoshop, and Google Analytics skills.
  • Understanding of content marketing tactics, such as Search Engine Optimization, a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
