The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) Department of Music invites applications for an Adjunct Lecturer to teach “Music in Global Perspective,” a 200-level core requirement for music majors that is also open to all students as a Liberal Learning option. The successful candidate will teach two sections of the course: Tuesdays and Fridays from 9:30–10:50 am and 11:00–12:20 pm, respectively, starting the week of August 29, 2022.

Qualifications:

● Minimum education of a master’s degree in Ethnomusicology or Musicology (with appropriate scholarly specialization and/or teaching experience).

● A proven record of two years of successful collegiate-level teaching experience, including as a TA.

● Outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills, including timely communications in writing.

Teaching Load:

The Fall 2022 semester runs from August 30 through December 9, 2022 on TCNJ’s campus (Ewing, NJ). Duties include providing course syllabus (based on existing departmental syllabus) and administering final assessments during the College’s exam period (December 13 through December 20, 2022).
