Position Summary:
The Wellness Assistant will assist the Health Center, Counseling & Psychological Services, and Campus Life staff in redesigning and implementing a comprehensive wellness education program related to high-risk drinking and other public health issues, including but not limited, stress & anxiety, sleep, vaccinations, suicide, social justice and sexual behavior.

Specific Responsibilities:
  • Provide educational services in partnership with Dean of Health & Wellness
  • Implementation of an alcohol prevention program for the student body
  • Help create and implement alcohol alternative programming, partnering closely with Leadership & Engagement
  • Partner with the Office of Residence Life to improve the skills of student residential life staff in preventing and identifying concerns with AOD
  • Assist to implement Healthy Hawks Initiatives
  • Implement Counseling & Psychological Services marketing and communications plan
  • Extend anxiety & stress management prevention programming
  • Design and coordinate alcohol awareness week related programs and activities
  • Partner with fraternity & sorority life, residence life, and athletics department around strategies to increase healthy behavior
  • Administer the Social Media Arm of Healthy Hawks Initiatives (snapchat, Facebook, twitter, YouTube and TikTok)
  • Administer alternative approaches/mindfulness program

    Required Qualifications:
    A bachelor’s degree in human services including public health, social work, psychology, and/or other related fields
