Position Summary
The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering ( CBE ), University at Buffalo ( SUNY ) seeks an Assistant Professor of Teaching . The primary objective of the person in this position will be to improve the educational experience and outcomes for undergraduate students in Chemical and Biological Engineering.
Responsibilities for this position include:
- Serve as an instructor for undergraduate courses that cover a spectrum of topics in Chemical and Biological Engineering. These may include laboratory courses and elective courses open to both undergraduate and graduate students, as well as development of new elective courses with an appeal to students outside of CBE .
- Contribute to essential departmental undergraduate activities, such as preparation for ABET accreditation, student advisement, laboratory and instrumentation upgrades, student awards success, diversity enhancement, and external educational grant support in collaboration with the CBE Director of Undergraduate Studies and the undergraduate studies committee. These plans should be consistent with the CBE ABET objectives and UB goals for improving student retention, placement, and career success.
- Develop and facilitate interactions with industry employers, government laboratories, and other academic institutions in support of student internships, co-op placements, and research experiences. We are particularly looking for candidates who can operate effectively in a diverse community of students and faculty and share our vision of helping all constituents reach their full potential.

- The Ph.D. must be conferred prior to appointment.
