Salary for Announcement
$41,200 – $61,800. ($30,900 – $46,350 at .75FTE).
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based upon a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, education, experience, specialty and training.
The above salary ranges represent the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the ranges of possible compensation at the time of posting. MSU Denver offers a full benefits package.

Position Summary
This position provides administrative, operational, and technical support for the Faculty Senate Officers, Committee Chairs, Executive Committee, and Faculty Senate members; this position also backs up the front desk and provides administrative support for the Office of Academic Affairs. A strong candidate will be able to build relationships, work independently, be thorough and thoughtful, detail-oriented, and be able to balance a workload of ebbs and flows.
This is a ten-month position from August 1 through May 31 at 30 hours/week; Wednesday afternoons and some evenings required.
Duties/Responsibilities
20% – Administrative and Clerical Support for Faculty Senate Officers
- Provide calendar support and manage meeting requests for the Faculty Senate President.
- Compose, format, edit, and disseminate Faculty Senate correspondence, meeting minutes, meeting agendas and/or notices. Assist Faculty Senate Officers and Committee Chairs as needed.
- Initiate communications to Provost and President on Faculty Senate actions.
60% – Support to Faculty Senate
- Schedule Faculty Senate and Executive Committee meeting locations.
- Take and transcribe minutes for Faculty Senate Meeting meetings and other meetings as
necessary.
- Plan, organize and provide set up and support for Faculty Senate and Executive Committee meetings on campus.
- Schedule and support virtual/hybrid and in-person Faculty Senate meetings.
- Set up catering and deliver necessary supplies/goods, when necessary.
- Maintain Faculty Senate rosters and election data.
- Assist with Teaching Excellence Awards process.
- Monitor and report on supplemental pay, certificates, evaluations, and reassigned time.
- Oversee election process for Faculty Trustee, Colorado Faculty Advisory Council Representative and Faculty Senate elections.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the Faculty Senate and campus community partners to resolve problems, answer questions, and provide information or advice using historical knowledge of the basic principles, rules, regulations, policies, precedents, and Faculty Senate guidelines.
- Scan and index historical files and maintain Iron Mountain storage account.
- Maintain SharePoint site, website, and all Faculty Senate related records.
- Onboard new officers.
15% – Support to Academic Affairs
- Assist the Academic Affairs front office with reception and other administrative tasks.
5% – Other Duties as Assigned
Required Qualifications
- At least two years’ experience in an administrative assistant role or comparable position.
- Experience supporting executives,
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite and scheduling meetings.
- Experience in customer service.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution of higher education
- Experience working as a staff member in an institution of higher education.
- Experience working in a diverse environment.
- Experience with proofreading and editing documents.
- Detail-oriented, organized and able to manage multiple tasks at one time.
- Experience using Elucian’s Banner or Workday database system or similar system.
- Experience with web design and/or maintenance.
- Experience running Teams and/or Zoom meetings or other comparable software applications.
- Experience taking minutes or notes at meetings.
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations regarding confidentiality ( FERPA, HIPAA, GAAP, etc).
