Position Summary:

Assistant or Associate Professor of Criminal Justice. This is a full-time, 9-month position in the Behavioral Science Department within the College of Arts and Humanities.  Departmental programs include B.A. in Criminal Justice and Criminology, B.A. in Psychology, B.A. in Sociology, and M.A. in Psychology.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop and teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses

Effectively advise and mentor students at the undergraduate and graduate level

Engage students in high impact learning practices

Develop a sustainable scholarship program, including seeking external funds

Provide meaningful service to the department, college, university, and profession

Engage in assessment and continuous improvement of courses

Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Head 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Excellent communication skills

Strong interpersonal skills

History of working effectively with colleagues

Minimum Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Criminal Justice, Criminology, or related field; or J.D.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience teaching Criminal Justice Graduate Courses

Experience teaching online courses

Experience advising in a university setting
