Portland Community College’s Entry Level Healthcare Programs program provide students and working professional opportunities to learn new skills, refresh their cardiac knowledge, or fulfill continuing education units (CEUs) needs. We are currently seeking part-time faculty members who have current content knowledge, who can balance academics with practical application, and are committed to equitable student success.

To be considered for a part-time faculty position, your application must demonstrate the Instructor Qualifications outlined below.

Sterile Processing Instructor

The Institute for Health Professionals’ Sterile Processing Technician program lasts 1 term and includes 42 hours of self-directed study and hands-on training in a hospital setting. Upon successful completion, students are qualified and may obtain certification through the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution, Inc. (CBSPD)

Minimum Instructor qualifications:

● Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution, Inc. (CBSPD) Certified.

● 2-3 years of management experience in Central Sterile

● Formal or informal experience teaching adult learners (students, employees, or peers)

Notes Regarding Academic Credentials
  • Official transcripts are required to be submitted within 2 weeks of offer date for degrees required in the stated Instructor Qualifications.
  • Instructors shall have earned required academic credentials at a regionally accredited US institution or a foreign institution having the equivalent of regional accreditation. Instructors with credentials from other countries will have their transcripts evaluated by agencies that have good standing with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services to establish fulfillment of this standard.
