Assistant Director of Student Accounts - Canadian Financial Aid
About the Opportunity
Located at Northeastern University's Vancouver campus, the Assistant Director will be responsible for the application, maintenance and oversight of Financial Aid awarded at Northeastern's Toronto and Vancouver campuses. The Assistant Director will have a strong working knowledge of Canadian financial aid regulations and application for both provinces. This position will:
- Review OSAP/Student Aid BC applications for completeness and
advise students of missing, incorrect or additional required
documentation.
- Data input of applications and student information to the MCU
OSAP/Student Aid BC on-line system
- Track receipt of OSAP supporting documentation and submit it to
the Student Financial Assistance branch of the Ministry of College
and Universities (MCU) for processing.
- Manage the retention and archival process of all paper
documents within a student's financial aid file
- Submit adjustments for students that have withdrawn or made
course changes to the MCU
- Process and track applicable student refunds to the National
Student Loans Service Centre (NSLSC) throughout the year, in
accordance with government policies
- Verify student academic progress requirements are met and
report applicable updates to the MCU
- Comply with all performance requirements and program
regulations to maintain eligibility for student aid programs while
keeping abreast of changing government assistance
policies
The Assistant Director will also be part of the Student Accounts International billing team. This position will:
- Have a functional and working knowledge of
Salesforce
- Assist with all billing, cash entries and matching
- Assist with student refunds
- Assist with all collection activity including vendor
relationships
- Provide customer service to international and domestic Canadian
students regarding billing
- Have a functional knowledge of Service Now
- Have knowledge of T2202 and T4A tax requirements
- Work with the tax vendor to create required tax forms and files
and handle all student outreach and inquires.
- Create all necessary billing, account receivable and Canadian
ministry reporting in Salesforce.
- Work with the US Financial Aid office to apply any US federal
financial aid to the student account
- Work with the colleges to award scholarship funds to the
student account.
This position will also be called on to work with any other international campuses that NU operates.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of Salesforce experience
- Financial Force experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree required
- 3-5 years of experience with Canadian Financial Aid
- Excellent technical skills
- Ability to thrive in a rapidly changing environment
- Strong oral/written communication and analytical
skills
- Must be decisive and results oriented
- Creative thinking skills and solutions-oriented
- Demonstrated ability to work within a diverse
environment
