The University of Virginia's College at Wise invites applications for a full-time, 12-month exempt Coordinator of Student Engagement (CSE). The CSE reports to the Director of Student Engagement and is a member of the College’s Division of Student Affairs. The CSE will work collaboratively across campus units to support new students in a successful transition to UVA Wise through new student orientations, academic advising and additional programming initiatives. Responsibilities & expectations include, but are not limited to: Assist with coordination and implementation of a comprehensive new student orientation program, including online signups, online information modules, and in-person events; Develop and deliver campus programming initiatives focused on supporting new students, with an emphasis on the first-year experience; Support hiring and training of student orientation leaders and expedition (extended orientation) leaders; Assist with new student advising process; Collaborate within Student Affairs and across campus units on student success initiatives.


A bachelor's degree is required, master’s degree preferred, along with at least one year's experience working with students, with preference given to experience working with students in higher education. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Superior organizational and time management skills including the ability to multitask in a busy, student-centered environment. Strong computer skills, including proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Exceptional customer service skills August 2022
