Position Overview

The Senior Systems Analyst will perform implementation, training, documentation, support, and maintenance for Butler core ERP systems. The Senior System Analyst will work to support and implement integration strategies between the systems they support and Butler's data analytics, reporting and visualization solutions to ensure the appropriate information is easily available to meet university needs.

The ideal candidate for this position should possess a good understanding of backend focused IT development and demonstrate solid skills around business processes. This individual must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and demonstrate a team-oriented, goal- and results-driven work ethic. The role requires working collaboratively with the business community and other IT team members within a dynamic and high-profile environment.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Ongoing technical development and enhancement of the ERP System through implementation of technology and enhancements to software to work toward integrating those systems with business process to implement system-wide solutions.
  • Coordinate with various lines of business, supporting staff and technology areas to evaluate and select technologies and platforms, define enterprise guiding principles, review delivered architectures, and act as architect for large programs.
  • Provides complete documentation for new or modified information systems and/or application software programs including technical procedures and manuals.
  • Designs, codes and debugs new application software programs and/or makes enhancements to existing application software programs.
  • Work with functional areas to test new features, advise "best practices," implement new enhancements, and set future goals as required by business processes and provide additional support as needed.
  • Participate in software upgrades, revisions, fixes and patches. Create system test plans and ensure change control and procedures are documented
  • Execute, assess, and troubleshoot software programs and applications. Analyze and amend software errors in a timely and accurate fashion.
  • Monitors application software systems to ensure proper execution and performance.
  • Manage multiple priorities and interact effectively as a team member and participate in group meetings and team building activities
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Technology, or computer related field or 2 to 1 work experience
  • 5-7 years experience in Information Technology or related field
Preferred Skills:
  • Project management/business analysis experience
  • Management of enterprise applications and systems ensuring availability, reliability, and sustainability. Technical and functional knowledge of PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, PeopleSoft Financials or Human Capital Management applications
  • Experience with API methods and implementation of web services in a distributed architecture system
  • Strong skills in developing interfaces, integrations and extensions and customization utilizing Oracle best practice methodology
