POSITION DETAILS
The Director of Digital Design and Production reports to the AVP for Marketing and Communications and serves as the college’s digital creative director providing conceptual direction for and managing production of all marketing materials including the college’s website -- from intake to delivery to evaluation -- to ensure that they meet goals, are produced efficiently and effectively, and align with the college brand as well as its strategic priorities.
In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, typical duties include, but are not limited to:

Provides conceptual creative direction on all marketing projects and leads teams in developing innovative design solutions for admissions marketing while embracing the college’s brand strategy.
Serves as primary digital strategist in ongoing design evolution of the college’s new WordPress website and leads implementation teams for major website projects/initiatives.
Leads college’s web and creative services teams, oversees website governance, and establishes guidelines and protocols to ensure website quality control.
Integrates site analytics into design workflow and monitors, evaluates, and reports on web traffic ensuring that site is functioning optimally for prospective and returning students.
Works with clients across the college and with staff across the communications and marketing department to manage the development and execution of high-quality, effective digital marketing materials by developing an effective production process and a digital-first culture within the team.
Optimizes use of a dept-wide project management system to establish logical, efficient, and effective processes and workflow, schedules for all jobs/campaigns, and an annual schedule for the department
Leads client intake meetings along with appropriate team members to ensure development of goals and targets, schedules, and approved creative briefs for each project/campaign.
Hires and supervises full-time and part-time staff, student employees, and interns as needed providing regular feedback and conducting annual performance reviews.
Collaborates with all members of the communications and marketing team to ensure that appropriate staff members are assigned to project teams, that workloads are balanced, that projects stay on schedule, and that high standards for client service are established and maintained.
Contributes to an integrated marketing effort by sharing news and opportunities uncovered through work with client schools, departments, and offices.
Produces regular reports that measure the quality, effectiveness, and timeliness of deliverables to ensure client goals are being met; includes evaluation of all projects as part of production process by conducting and/or managing market research initiatives and surveys as needed.
Other duties as assigned

Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in design or a related field and at least 8 years of professional experience in UI/UX design as well as extensive experience in the management, design, and production of institutional websites; prior experience managing digital creative teams, and proficiency in all relevant technology.
Digital portfolio required and master’s degree preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; diplomatic attitude; and strong organizational, planning, and time management abilities.
Experience in higher education or nonprofit institutions preferred.

Develops overall advertising and media strategies to achieve image, awareness, enrollment, recruiting, and/or fundraising goals

Provide professional and managerial oversight of a broad range of marketing programs and tools, including digital, print, mail, broadcast, social networking, and other media

Manages and develops internal staff and external resources

Develops and analyzes key metrics of marketing effectiveness, as well as budgets and costs related to marketing programs and campaigns
